About TopHat Stuff
TopHat Stuff is the trading name of a tiny hobbyist independent games-, software- and web-development studio in the UK.
Currently we have no interest in releasing a commercial product. For the foreseeable future our aim is to develop free (libre) and free (gratis) open source software as a de facto non-profit.
We've had a web presence as TopHat Stuff since 2005.
Gamers may be interested in our software downloads, while developers may be interested in our code and articles.
We're interested in exchanging links with relevant and high quality websites that cover the following topics:
- Computer Science and academia
- Website and software (including video game) design and development
- Programmer and game developer communities (e.g. forums)
- Computer graphics and animation
- Software downloads or online games (but not portals)
- Software or hardware news and reviews
- Specialised gaming communities (e.g. gay gamers, girl gamers, deaf gamers, welsh gamers, etc)
- Services such as hosting, domain names and web design.
- Open source software
- Independent developers
- Worldbuilding, gameplay and RPG theory (including tabletop-RPGs)
If your website fits one of the above catagories, please get in touch if you would like to exchange links because, more than anything, we'd love to see your website!
Key Projects
The MCC Modular C Collection is a open source selection of clean, unobtrusive, portable and modular includes for the C programming language. MCC includes a uniform and "Graphics Engine Agnostic" API to set up a window, manage input, or load and draw images.
The Hero Extant: World Generator prototype is a free piece of software that can be used to procedurally generate detailed world maps. We hope to develop it further into a cross platform rpg & map generator suite, with a game engine to turn the map data into a series of playable games.
